The CSULB NEUROLab is dedicated to advancing research on brain function and memory. Our work leverages large-scale national datasets of traumatic brain injury (TBI) populations with sample sizes exceeding 18,000 participants.
In addition, we conduct on-campus research examining emotional working memory and the impact of stress on this critical cognitive process. With multiple projects underway and in development, the lab continues to expand its scope to explore a broad range of topics within neuropsychology.
There are specific requirements and expectations set for each lab member.
Must Attend Lab Meetings
Meetings are held weekly and are especially required for first-year lab members.
Availibility
8-10 hours of availability dedicated to lab related activities.
Minimum of 8 hours dedicated to on-campus research.
Article Presentations
Lab members are expected to present information from a brief article relevant to topics focused within the lab.
Poster Presentations
Each year, the CSULB NEUROLab attends the Western Psychological Association conference (WPA) held annually. Participating members must work on a research project involving the use of the TBIMS dataset and submit their abstract to WPA.
Additionally, lab members are expected to present their posters at the annual CSULB PsychDay in order to showcase their findings to students and faculty.
The CSULB NEUROLab consists of a diverse group of undergraduate, graduate, post baccalaureate, and faculty within the psychology department.
